MYOB – Can I have a copy on another PC or laptop to take away with me?

A past client we set up with MYOB Account Right, called and said they were going away, and “Can I have a copy on another PC or laptop to take away with me?” (So he can keep working while away.) YES you can!
The first problem was that he had lost his MYOB software disc.
I advised he needed to find out what version he was on – if he has created a login at my.myob.com, he will be able to download a past version, or as Certified Consultants we have access to past versions, and even though the company cannot offer support past the last 2 versions, we could install for him on the laptop
How do you find your version in your software?
Open your MYOB, go to > Help across the top, drop down, >About MYOB
Look for the Version eg 18.5.01 r 16.3
- Email back what version you are on
- When you get the laptop, have Outlook or Outlook express installed and ready
- Ensure you already have Word and Excel installed and working also – BEFORE MYOB is installed (as it does a search and links with all these programmes. But it can’t link if they are installed AFTER MYOB)
- Then download, or I can remote-login to your PC and install, and we can check that the back-up opens ok properly
- Need to be careful to ZIP a copy and Load it BACK carefully in your desktop to replace with your latest version as worked on the laptop
